2.1 The Committee heard evidence from the Samaritans. They agreed to send the Committee two reports:

- A review in The Lancet published in 2015 - School-based suicide prevention programmes: the SEYLE cluster-randomised, controlled trial; and

- The World Health Organisation report - Growing up unequal: gender and socioeconomic differences in young people's health and well-being.

3.1 The Committee heard evidence from representatives from NHS emergency duty teams and crisis care practitioners.

3.2 Witnesses agreed to provide a note on the proportion of young   people presenting to the crisis teams in the different Health Boards who are waiting for a CAMHS assessment or are already under the care of CAMHS.

4.1 The Committee heard evidence from the National Police Chiefs Council.

 

4.2 The Committee agreed to write to North Wales Police to seek its view on provision of mental health support for children and young people in Wales and its impact on the force’s work.
